“ Had brunch there again today. Absolutely my favorite always and forever. The food is phenomenal and the family cozy atmosphere makes it to die for. ”
“ Wonderful food, wonderful service. Dog-friendly too. We were there on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon in February, and enjoyed our sandwiches outside in the warm sunshine. Many other restaurants were closed for the winter. ”
“ The service was outstanding! Dustin our server was truly a sweet heart and gave such attention towards his customers, you feel like family or close friends. The food is amazing and the recommendations provided were outstanding. 5 stars. Great family stop. The ambiance is that of walking into a coffee shop or gramma's kitchen, cozy and inviting. A must do in Virginia City! ”
“ I'm so blown away by this place, i'm writing this before i've even left! the man working (he was by himself...serving, cooking, everything...maybe the owner?) was SO kind and attentive. also incredibly fast. the ambiance is very cute and kitschy and homey. the house salad with ranch is such a simple thing, but it was the freshest, most delicious salad i've had in a long long time. my mom and i split the smash burger and french dip. the french dip was very good but the burger stole the show. and the side of potato salad was incredible too. everything was so obviously fresh and made with love, i wish i could immediately sit down and eat this meal all over again. ”
“ This review goes out to the amazing server, Dustin, that we had 9/1/2024. He was backed up by himself doing his ultimate best and it was already busy. He was incredible and super nice to us even with all the people and waiting for his back up. On top of him being an outstanding server, he was able to talk to us the entire time and check in on us making sure our drinks were always filled and made sure we had condiments and everything else. His food suggestions were spot on and we just had such a great time. I will definitely go back here as their biscuits were home made (warm and fluffy) and the food was SO good! It was so hot and fresh, he even brewed me fresh iced tea in the sun and let me know that I would be getting some fresh tea. That kind of service needs a shoutout and he was one of a kind. Prices were reasonable, too! Thank you Dustin for making our vacation even better. ”
“ First time in Virginia City so we decided to check Yelp first for the best restaurants in the area. We came across The Cider House and immediately made our tread on over. I believe it's a family owned business, our waiter was all alone but he was able to wait on us, check other tables, and make the food in a fast and timely manner. The cider bread was really good and tasty and definitely something I am going to try to recreate at home. Other than that the food was pretty average but for the price what do you expect? ”
“ I love the new location on C-street (the Main Street in Virginia City). Prime real estate! Service is the same friendly, and awesome team. I always feel like I'm being welcomed home. Prime rib sandwich is delicious. I would have loved a side of horseradish with it, I didn't ask, but next time! The inside is still a quaint cafe with a nod to the history of our town. Definitely a must visit when visiting Virginia City, Storey County, Nevada ”
“ Best food and service hands down in this fun little town. Unlike most places in town, the food is fresh and well prepared. Try the French dip. So good. ”
“ I absolutely love Dustin and Judy they are quite the duo and they know how to make your meal absolutely fabulous! My friend Carmen and I went there for the first time many years ago and we had the Lemon Chardonnay Parmesan Chicken. It was to die for and now my husband I drive to Virginia City just for lunch!!! Currently, at the new location the menu has changed a bit, but I know sometime when they get settled in to the new location our favorite dish will soon return! Dustin convenient me to try the clams and linguine... oh my goodness the best I ever had!! The burgers and breakfast are dynamite too! There is nothing on the menu that isn't awesome! I would strongly recommend a reservation and then sit back and let the food smelt into your mouth with a nice glass of wine. You will not be disappointed!!! ”
“ I proposed to my husband in Virginia City; it holds a very special place in our hearts, but food has never been what we love it for. When this spot popped up as being so highly recommended, we were excited to try. My husband and I frequently talk about how Yelp ratings need to be taken with context; this is the highest reviewed spot in Virginia City with a 4.8 currently, but it wouldn't stand next to a 4.8 in a metro area (nor would it want to!!), which would represent more of a "perfect" meal... this is not going to be the best food of your life, but it is a cute and cozy dine in experience in a town that has been seriously lacking of such a thing.... Negative Yelpers, please take note of the context. The ambiance is so cozy, and felt like a casual dinner at family's house. Whoever decorated has a great eye for decor and visual balance, and took great time with little details that I loved to experience as a decor junkie myself :) Our server (so sorry I forgot his name!) was arguably the best server I have ever experienced. He was friendly, attentive, energetic, and juggled the entire house by himself with great ease. He made it feel like we were a guest in his home. Very sweet. We both ordered the special (steak with shrimp scampi), and got sides of Caesar salad. My husband ordered the roasted garlic + bread to start-- I was a bit disappointed by it, but that's because I wanted the garlic bread that everyone else ordered (which looked amazing). The salad was very over dressed to the point of liquified- No worries, we had more than enough food coming. The steaks for both of us was excellent- they air on the light side, so order wellness on a more conservative side. My husband ordered a side of the soup of the day; Turkey and lentil. It was delicious (and I don't like lentil soup!). The shrimp scampi was unconventional, served with red bell peppers and lacked the typical buttery, garlic sauce. Not how I personally prefer, but it was a fun experience to try. The shrimp was cooked perfectly. I liked that they left the shell on, which brings more flavor. ”
